Just send them to the homeless shelters - they will use them. Or if you see people on the side of the road asking for handouts give them shampoo and stuff
|
Read the above. Shelters don't accept opened bottles.
|
| OP, post it on Buy Nothing, you will be surprised. |
| Yep- put on Buy Nothing or give to a friend/relative. |
| I have sympathy for your daughter. I have curly hair and just not everything works well in my hair. and what works well in the winter may not work well in the summer. I do not always finish a bottle or use it if I know I don't need my hair to look good. Encourage samples until she figures out what works for her. |
You're an adult and haven't found a shampoo and conditioner that works for you? After all these years? |
I would make a box and leave it next to one so that people can just pick what they want. |
I do this as well. I'm one of the PP's who posted that OP should stop indulging DD. If I have a body wash or shampoo that I don't care for, I use it instead to wash my delicates, and my make up brushes. Either way it doesn't go to waste. |
sometimes companies change things, your hair also changes as you age, grey hair and then coloring your hair can change your hair needs. I can't believe you haven't changed up your routine since... when? I used pantene in my 20s. That would never work in my hair now. |
Leaving a box of half-opened bottles of stuff on the sidewalk, when you have no idea whether anyone will see or want it is....dumping a box of trash. You're just leaving it for someone else to get rid of it. It isn't the favor you think it is. |
NP. I also have curly hair and it’s very different than having wash and go normal hair. |
I'm the original PP. I also have curly hair. I've been using the same shampoo and contusions since college. Even if I needed to change I wouldn't find the need to throw away a 75% full bottle, because that's wasteful as hell. |
NP and we do the same. Hand wash delicates; or as a hand soap; some shampoos make a decent body wash but that depends on your skin's needs; wash out hairbrushes (I wouldn't trust makeup brushes to a random shampoo, though); wash the mud room sink where the clothes washer vents water; etc. OP, show your DD there are other ways to use up products rather than throwing them out. I do understand what it's like to buy a product and discover it's just not for you and my own DD and myself have had that issue too! But wasting stuff is basically throwing money down the drain. Oh yeah...please recycle the plastic bottles, too, if you have bottle recycling in your area! |
+1 from a different NP. The snarky PP carping about "you're an adult and haven't found one that works after all these years?" must have easy-care hair or hair that didn't change at all with age. How fortunate for that person, but the smugness and judgement are not a good look, no matter how perfect the hair might be. |
NGL I kind of love the idea of giving the Roma family that begs for money in my neighborhood shopping center some open bottles of shampoo. Joke’s on you, suckas! |
