Shorter skirts suddenly look weird on me- why?

(I am similar to you in that I am short with long legs and short skirts looked GREAT on me in my hey day. Too fat for that now, plus two c-sections did a number on my middle).

OP here. You know what? My bra size has totally changed with perimenopause hormones. I think that’s messing with my proportions and makes me look bulkier on top in a way that throws off the balance of the entire outfit. Ugh. I hate, hate hate my chest. It makes even the cutest outfits matronly.

Yeah man. It suuuuucks.

Make sure you’ve re-measured yourself for bras that fit. Get supportive ones (try the panache underwire sports bra if you’re used to more “normal” bras.

Then you probably want to try to get longer vertical lines down the front of your body. So pants might be a better choice than a short skirt. Also jackets, etc.

Don’t worry- I’m very much on top of my bra size because I have to keep switching to larger ones. The interesting thing is that my go-to style no longer fits because my cup shape has changed, too. I use panache for workouts but have to put another pullover style one on top for running to lock everything down. None of this is pretty! Jackets are a terrible idea for my shape because they add too much bulk to my shoulders and chest and make me look like a potato on two chopsticks (my short-waisted, large-chested people know what I mean).
