The EU/UK are cutting social programs in half?

OP you dont know what you are talking about, mixing up Germany and the rest of the EU ajd the UK. The UK is in deep s$it after a decade of conservative leadership of the GOP type, cuts to taxes for the rich, cuts to services and when people rightfully started getting angry, they turned to the conservative populism maga-style of “it’s all the immigrants’ fault” and voted for Brexit. So now their economy is in tatters, the working class who voted for Brexit are in even more trouble, and even so the then PM Truss tried again the mega-tux cut recipe only to be booted out in a week from the markets who clearly saw the cuts as unsustainable even with cuts to the services. Oh, and immigration from outside the EU (pakistan, Bangladesh and so on) is BOOMING. So what sank the Uk is not the generous european welfare system, it’s the conservative rabid tax cutting/ trickle down pipe dream that result in the rich getting much richer and the working class going back to Dickens’s times. Germany is doing well thanks

Or maybe they should increase taxes, especially on higher earners. Pointing at the refugees/immigrants is an old trick to distract the working class and middle class from going after who is really screwing them.

Socialism failing again. It’s childish and leads to poverty.

When our money printing scheme erodes it’s gonna be a show. Start learning to grow food in your urban townhouse lot.

Doesn’t take long before a migrant basher shows up in one of these threads.
So you think a country should commit economic suicide to make American progressives happy?

The UK has been conservative since 2010

Well said.

The Boomers, which were more than an American phenomenon, are all retiring and most economies are shifting to support old people.

Yep. All those cuts just hurt the British working class, didn't trickle down, and doesn't deter immigrants who are coming to work at the lowest paying jobs and live in squalor.

Socialism always works until the bills come due and there are no more people to mug for taxes.

My one friend from college is a dual citizen from Sweden. He moved over there and basically had zero job and took 10 years to complete a free masters degree. Sweden was giving him thousands of dollars per month because he was a ‘student’ even though he was only taking one class a semester. He got so much free money he had enough to travel all over Europe for years and never had to work for a living. Justvyears and years and years of gaming the system for free money. It’s really not uncommon for losers all through their 20s and 30s to never work and live off the govt teat. Europe is a loser continent full of lazy bums with their hands out for govt freebies.

I want you to go here and then run your cursor over each country. It gives the national debt to GDP ratio of countries.

https://worldpopulationreview.com/country-rankings/debt-to-gdp-ratio-by-country

Many countries will break down at the rate we are going.

You were saying we were going to become Greece fifteen years ago. We’re not. Disappointed?

Germany also supports a lot of former East Germans who don't have the educational level of West Germany.

Something like 70% of Germany women only were able to work part-time which sounds great until you realize the state was paying for 70% of women.
