The EU/UK are cutting social programs in half?

Anonymous
Brits reduced 'social care' programs by 58 percent, that includes care beds, disabled care and number of social work positions financed.

They're not the only one - Germany cut its paid leave payments IN HALF. Parents are capped when they weren't before and child benefits are reduced.

Yup, the economy in peer nations is terrible compared to the U.S.

In tatters. They have to make choices though. Child benefits and disability visits being first. Interesting that the U.S. was talking about implementing something in June that they cut in July.

The amount of paid leave in many of the EU countries is not sustainable.

Germany also supports a lot of former East Germans who don't have the educational level of West Germany.

Its been 30 years. The generation born the year of the Berlin Wall falling should have nearly 5-7 years of work experience postgraduate now.

Agreed on unsustainable though.

Too many people on that bandwagon, economy in poor shape due to sanctioned energy, it’s going to get worse. Just not enough resources and too many recipients

The East Germany mentality is still alive and well in that region. Will take at least another generation for it to go away.

They should cut refugee benefits, primarily housing and welfare, and see how much lighter the load will become.

The UK's economy is in ruins post brexit. They have an aging population and an absurd pension guarantee they can no longer afford. To meet pension obligations, everything else is getting cut. At a certain point, they are going to realize that, outside of the EU, they aren't a strong enough trading power to support their standard of living

Doesn’t take long before a migrant basher shows up in one of these threads.

I remember touring in Ireland in a rental car with the radio on and hearing government ads for all of the benefits you could get as a refugee and to apply at certain government office locations.

Their parents are low level laborers. Many speak limited German.

The acquisition of Eastern Germany was at a very large long term financial cost to Western Germany.

It is obvious why these changes are happening now.

What nonsense are you spouting? I’ve known many Germans from the former DDR and none of them spoke “limited German.” What does that even mean? Do you think East Germans spoke some other language as a mother tongue??
