Lululemon Navy Yard closed “temporarily” after being robbed at gunpoint

No place is completely safe, but in NYC it is reassuring that the NYPD are so visible. They aren’t just in their patrol cars, but also a strong presence on sidewalks.

Governor Hochul has been making significant moves: schools, transit, streets, Joint Terrorism Task Force staffing, State Police funding amid antisemitic and Islamophobic incidents. “You'll never hear the words from me or my administration ‘defund the police,’” Hochul said. “In fact, we are doing the opposite.”

DC needs to do the same. The city, and more specifically, residents and visitors, deserve a visible, proactive police force. We were in Chicago a couple weeks ago and the police presence compared to NYC, was nil. While we didn’t feel unsafe in Chicago, a visible police presence is reassuring. With how things are going in DC with crime, i think it’s past time for the city to step up.

That Lululemon store now appears to be officially closed.

Tbh I was nervous to shop there after all the robberies. Just don't want to be caught up in that, very stressful.

I hope the staff can be transferred to other stores.

Sad, imagine others will follow.

Wasn’t the running store in Georgetown by Key Bridge robbed too?

Oppressing the citizens.

Maybe you should move to a safe space … like Mogadishu?

Is that the one Fentys parents own? The irony.

If the people who live in DC cared to a significant degree they’d be demonstrating and demanding change. Yet we have nothing.

When I've met with our council representative at their community events, they always have excuses for service shortcomings: but the Mayor! but the Feds!
As elected officials, they should be leading the demonstrations against whomever they are pointing fingers at-- we would join in.

Navy yard, southwest waterfront and city center are ripe for robberies. I stay away from those areas like the plague. Too much high concentration of “ wealth”. I go in the opposite direction. Until DC can get a handle on crime- I’m not stepping foot in a field mine.

Those sheeps will demonstrate only when their owner tells them. Look at organized BLM protests. Look at the amount of people protesting today in front of Austin's and Sullivan's houses in support of Palestine.

Really sad after everything lululemon has gone through as a brand in this area 😔

Having little shops is what makes cities vibrant.

It used to be the mayor and other elected officials were proud to support the retailers in their city.

Navy Yard is ghetto. I don’t know why people pay so much to live there.
