Kid 1: 5, 3 in-state. All public Us
Kid 2: 7, 2 in-state. 3 public, 4 private |
| 2, both in-state |
|
Still applying, but will likely apply to 9 total
2 in state publics (VA) 1 Private in VA 2 more oos public universities 4 more privates - 1 is a women’s college Schools in VA, PA, MA, MI, NC and MO |
| I’m pleased that these are all reasonable answers. I hope the trend of applying to 15+ schools goes away. |

4 total
2 in-state 2 OOS (only one is the 'flagship') all public "In" already at both OOS with enough merit to be lower than in-state. Should hear from the VA schools in January. |

12 total
4 in state publics 2 out of state publics 6 out of state privates I think it is too many, but half of them are reaches and she wanted to take her shot and see if she could get lucky. A couple had no application fees and she was willing to do the supplementals. so far, declined at her top choice (ED) private, accepted EA at one OOS state public and one OOS private, and deferred EA at one OOS public. |
|
7 (I think—finishing them up tomorrow)
4 private 3 public (all out of state as we are in DC) Already accepted to one public; deferred at an ED Ivy last week. |
| She has 21 on her list. She's submitted 8. Deferred from EA so now she's scrambling to finish the others. I think it's too much but she won't listen. |
| 10 Combination instate/outstate, private public. Just the right balance. Obviously no ED's, EA/RD and rolling. So far we have yes at 3 of the 10 so we know she is going somewhere! |

2 in state public
4 OOS public 6 OOS private |

8 OOS Flagships (we’re in DC)
3 privates 1 non-US May put in a few more. |

1 rolling and in. Kid likes it.
1 ED rejected 2 in-state EA 2 out of state EA 1 RD Kid has another 9 for RD, most private reach and one more instate RD. I can’t tell if we will make it through all 10. I would say that there’s a critical mass of essays done that can be “chop shopped” into new essays, so it’s getting a little easier. Collegevine gave us a % chance acceptance level that says we should be applying to quite a few schools. |

2 state schools
7 OOS publics 7 private schools 16 total This is our 3rd kid with one more to go. 2 reaches. 8 targets. 6 safeties. We will wait to spring until making a decision and all merit/financial aid decisions are in. |
Earlier last week, DD added 3 additional schools to her list. She got into an EA school so she did drop one school from her list. She won't listen to me either about it not being necessary to add those 3 additional schools. At least she dropped a school. |

We are a donut hole family who needs to compare offers before making a decision. DC has applied to 11 schools at this point.
5 EA, 6 RD 4 private OOS, 4 public in-state, 3 public OOS DC has an ambitious list, and is trying to decide whether to add 2-3 more schools over Winter Break. |
