Hmmm...I could have cared less about salt with DD #1, but with current pregnancy with DD #2 I couldn't get enough of it during my first trimester. Everything I ate got salted. Nothing was salty enough.

With my first, I craved sweets and fruit - turned out girl. With #2, I craved meat beyond anything and it turned out to be a boy... now I'm on #3, and I'm had severe hyperemeses and only could keep down McDonald's cheeseburgers. I am willing to be this is a boy!

I craved both fruit (mainly watermelon, strawberries, cherries) AND red meat while pregnant. Had a boy.

Don't you think it's more because fruit is juicy and pregnant women are thirsty/have to work hard to hydrate?

And red meat b/c we often get low on iron.

With my first(DS) I craved red meat, Mexican food, Chinese food and CHEETOS!!!!!!! With this pregnancy (DD), I have only wanted fruit, orange juice, anything lemon, and extremely cold things (Ice Cream, Rita's Water Ice) I think there is def a trend.

I was the opposite of the OP: I craved watery fruits like grapes and watermelon and could not stand meat--especially red meat (steak used to turn my stomach) when I was carrying my son.

I had my DS I craved red meat, Burritos! couldn't get enough Mexican food, didn't crave any fruit except green apples a few time towards the end.

Now I only want fruit and fruit juices, and have a huge aversion to red meat. (I love burritos now I can't eat them) the only other thing I crave sometimes is sushi. I drank a whole bottle of V-fusion the other day. my DH was like "WTH you drank this all in one day lol?" and I was like well I told you I wanted fruit. the other day I had a box of blueberries, strawberries, 2 mangoes. IDK what I am having yet but I am thinking maybe this means girl

I couldn't stand the sight of any meat or fruit during both my pregnancies, which were mainly nourished with cheese, carbs, milk and eggs. Both girls.

Old wives' tale.

With my DD, I craved citrus and healthy things. This pregnancy I like to say I eat like a hungover college student. I wonder if it is a boy.

With DS I craved salty food (I actually would take sips of the pickle juice...gross, I know) and beef, even though I don't eat beef. I am now pregnant with a girl and I have been craving dairy and eating a lot of fresh fruits and veggies. These pregnancies have been very different from one another.
