Different cravings with girls and boys during pregnancy?

Anonymous
I have a theory. . .if you crave/craved a lot of fruit during pregnancy your baby will be a girl. If you craved red meat-burgers, steaks, etc. you have a boy? Any thoughts? This theory is only based on my own experience and those of my close friends. Did you notice different cravings with different pregnancies? Just curious.

No differences #1 was a boy and #2 just found out is a girl. Both babies are made of gummy bears, and hummus, and ice pops. (Not literally but that's what I crave)

Nope, my experience was the exact opposite--couldn't get enough fruit when pregnant with my son, and now I crave roast beef every day now that I'm pregnant with a girl.

Agree w/ OP. I craved and ate a lot of fruit with DD, and she also loves fruit. With DS, I craved McD's QPC, ate those about 4 to 5 times per week, and he's a fast food junkie, loves meat.

I was practically a vegetarian before my first pregnancy but I craved BEEF. I think I could have eaten a whole raw cow. Girl. Both girls. Both meat cravings.

I had hyperemesis as well, so having any food cravings at all was unusual for me -- just beef.

14:06 again. I think your body craves what your body needs. Mine definitely needed iron and protein.

(with the exception of the obvious sweet cravings many women experience, of course)

2 girls - ice cream and fruit both times. The steak cravings didn't hit until I was BFing.

With my son, I wanted red meat, eggs, and greens. I ate salt all the time. In my normal life I am mostly vegetarian and usually get a stomachache if I eat meat. Pregnant I could eat a NY strip steak no problem.

That's really odd!

I craved cantaloupe with my DD and I don't like cantaloupe!

OP here. . .I craved fruit with my first (a girl), am not pregnant with #2 and have been craving meat, salt and lots of carbs! Have only craved fruit in pie form. . .not the healthiest I suppose.
