Mikasa Colette. It's not oversized. It's 18/10 (much preferable to 18/0 or 18/8 -- the extra nickel content makes it more durable). I like the weight of it -- not heavy but feels like good quality.
With flatware it's really worthwhile to shop around for the best price. The 45-piece Colette set we bought currently retails for $250 on the Mikasa site but you can find it for less on Amazon, BB&B, Dillards, and eBay. |
Robert Welch.
His line is carried by crate and barrel and Williams Sonoma- but you really should check out his website. https://www.robertwelch.com/ The Radford Bright collection is award winning and extensive. Very well balanced. |
Oneida is elegant, not oversized or overly heavy, and nearly indestructible. |
These are nice. Next time. |
I have but searching for the Diaz collection, can not find it anywhere |
We use sterling silver. I put it in the dishwasher (except the knives) and it's been fine for 50 years (passed down in family). |
We are also looking for new flatware. I'm so fed up with the HUGE spoons. I'm feeding people here, not elephants. Also, I don't need my teenagers to eat from what appear to be serving spoons. |
+1 and frequent sales if onr subscribes to them |
Rather than spending $2000 on a set of stainless, why not buy a set of Sterling silver used from an auction for around $2500-5000?
Stainless ones lose 90% of their value walking out the door with them. Silver ones keep going up in value. There are some good buys on older century old sets that might be missing a couple pieces. |

Another vote for sterling. And also run it through dishwasher

I really miss that store. Screw you, Amazon. |
Same here. We've had it for 21 years and I still love the pattern and the weight. |
I love my stainless. Perfectly sized/weighted. It has a matte rather than a reflective surface, but it's also available in the traditional "bright" finish.
