There are always kids who are disappointed. My fifth grade son had a party last year and invited all the boys in his class and others. I was at school for something and saw a boy who didn’t come to the party. I said sorry we missed you at the party. The boy didn’t know about it. The mom saw the Evite and never responded. She probably never told the boy. I had a party for my daughter and mom RSVPd no. She told me they had other plans already. Mom told me she wasn’t going to tell her daughter about our party because she knows she would want to come. |

You did all you could reasonably do.
FWIW one year I accidentally clicked “no” on the “include in directory” question. Finally someone clued me in and I was able to get on the classroom directory at least. I have also found a lot of old bday invites at the bottom of my kids’ backpacks over the years. I do try to check but…doesn’t always happen. Parents are busy, teachers are busy and everyone is doing their best. Fortunately at this age the kids forget about any disappointments very quickly, and soon you will accumulate more parent contact info. Take a bit sometimes. |
