Asthma doesn't have to be permanent, it could be provoked and come and go too. I was diagnosed with it on and off and given inhalers. Some people get asthma from cold air or exercise exertion or due to inflammation or illness but may test negative under normal circumstances. |
| Yes! I am finally out of the woods. I started coughing at the end of September with lots of mucous and of course peeing from coughing so hard. It slowly got better and now I am pretty much done. All in all, about 2ish months. |
| Yup-I was dealing with this too (including the pelvic floor stuff which I’ve never had before). I felt fine-but sounded so gross. It took 2 solid months to finally go away. |

Op, can you take trip somewhere warm and humid? I accidentally cured my month long cough on a Christmas break trip. I think the warm air allowed my lungs to relax and heal.
|
| Nothing of value to add, just another "me too"! |
| I had a long cough. Turns out it was asthma. Inhaled steroids stop the lung and airway inflammation which triggers the cough. They work long term and stay in the body much longer. Pump inhalers like Albuterol have a fast acting medicine that temporarily dilates the airway and lungs. I was told to use my pump if I have breakthrough symptoms, but the daily disk inhaler for treatment and maintenance. I would see an asthma and allergy specialist. Maybe ask for pulmicort or symbicort and see how it goes. |

Did they test for RSV? My sister had cough for a month before they found it was RSV.

I was just at the ER and they said they only test babies and elderly for RSV. |
