We just saw it last weekend with our 19-year-old - not that we waited that long on purpose, just hadn’t gotten around to it yet. First of all, neither my DH or I had seen the uncut version in a while and there were a lot more t!ts than we remembered. But as for the N word, the only one that appears is the one that ends with o, not er.

I watched it with my kids when they were 11 and 8. Yes, there's some partial nudity, but nothing I'd personally be concerned about. I'm more concerned about guns and violence in the Marvel movies than this kind of thing.

Yeah, we've become quite prudish, at least outwardly. On the internet, we're all shagging sheep and shit.

Oddly I have no problem with them watching pretty severe violence in action movies—Bourne, Die Hard, Mission Impossible type stuff. Objectively that seems worse, but doesn’t bother me at all. Chalk it up to Catholic guilt I guess.

That's funny because I'm the opposite. I'm fine with the sex stuff, but I really hate the gory violence. Maybe because I'm not Catholic, lol.

You can always Tivo it off regular TV. They cut out the sex/nudity scenes, but these days they don't cut out any of the language.

Why would this be a good christmas movie?

I’d probably let my rising 13yo, but I bet she’d be totally embarrassed by the sex scenes.
Sex scenes? I recall two or three scenes that showed women’s breasts and none involved actual sex. If your 11 yo has a cell phone or internet access, I’d argue they’ve seen far worse.

Just FYI I have an almost 11 yo with lots of friends 11-12 and to a child, their phones are locked down with no ability or time to surf around for porn, and no unchaperoned/unsupervised internet access otherwise. It's not 1994.

Takes place over the holidays. One of the few where New Year’s Eve actually plays a greater role than Xmas.

It's the Santa with the smoked salmon scene. It's iconic. I can't see a Santa without thinking of it (and I am a pretty religious believer who is all in on the mystery and magic of Christmas). Such a good movie!

Oh I thought op might mean the new Jennifer Garner Netflix movie. But that's called Family Switch.
