For 5-10 lbs loss and perimenopausal, you should try eliminating any booze, white carbs, and sugar first and add lifting weights. You’ll lose it very quickly and have only positive side effects. |
44 here and I barely drink, barely eat carbs and sugar and am 165 on a 5'4 frame. Lifting makes me HUNGRY. I wish it were that easy ![]() |
m Chain? |
People are overstating the side effects. The medication isn't all that dangerous. You might gain it back if/when you stop the medication; but you'll never lose it if you don't take the medication in the first place.
Should you use it for that? Probably not. 5-10 pounds are doing less damage to you than the cultural expectations that lead you to stress over that amount of weight. |
I’d like to use it for 15-20 lbs, how do you find docs that will prescribe if not meeting weight requirements? |
At 5'4 and 165 though, those aren't really vanity pounds. You're just 10 pounds shy of obese. That is not what this thread is about. |
do a telemed call with a medspa and fudge your weight |
You are probably a good candidate for Ozempic. Your BMI is over 28. That's where mine was when I started on it. Now I am down to 23 BMI so in the healthy weight range. |
Oh yeah? Then why did my T2 friend have to stop taking it then? It caused stomach paralysis for her. I guess I'll let her know some dumba** FF online recommends she continue taking it forever! |
You realize stomach paralysis due to nerve damage is a not uncommon complication of T2 diabetes, right? There is a good chance Ozempic had nothing to do with her stomach paralysis. It’s like saying that someone was on Ozempic for T2 and had kidney failure or foot sores. Maybe Ozempic caused it. Maybe. Or maybe your friend didn’t start treating the diabetes with Ozempic soon enough and ended up with a common diabetes complication. |
Hey dummy. For those without these very unusual side effects it’s a lifetime drug. Please sign up for a critical reasoning class. You’re not that bright. |
This is true. I’m a diabetic in LA and it’s been impossible to find ozempic because everyone here is on the shots. I just switched to Mounjaro, because it’s been so hard for me, a diabetic, to obtain my diabetes medication, which was created to treat diabetes. Wegovy and zepbound are for weight loss. Can ya’ll please leave the diabetes meds for the diabetics?? |
I did it for a 20 pound (mostly cosmetic) weight loss and I'm very happy I did! |
How quickly did the 20 pounds come off? |
5 months to take it off. Now have been mating training for about 6 months. Honestly after a lifetime of yoyo dieting this is the best. |
