| What is "Least Restrictive Environment"? |
nevermind..I found it. |
I prefer to find fault with everything MCPS does mostly because I'm still bitter about the last election cycle. |
Sarcasm or not, those of us who actually care about students, staff and the community holistically are pleased to see the progress MCPS/BOE has made to capture, display, and utilize data. Even if what the data shows isn’t all sunshine and rainbows, having it and sharing it openly, sets a baseline and provides a place from which to have meaningful conversation/action/experimentation and build community trust. |
You're right. MCPS is better than it ever was. The should double down on all their new policies. I'm sure the number of kids getting shit and stabbed at school won't go up THAT much. |
If you believe there will be a spike in extreme violence, wouldn’t you want the data to be more publicly available? This is similar to things I read on NextDoor about stores closing due to shoplifting. When it was dog whistle racism and calls for aggressive policing, posters were happy. Once someone shared the stats showing stores citing rising rents as the reason for closing or moving, the conversation evaporated. |
Anyone heard an update on when the School Profiles will be getting refreshed with new data? They are still showing numbers from school years 22-23 or even 21-22. |
Great question. Follow up with Chris Cram and see if you get an answer. Or Stephanie Sheron. I think her group is responsible for this. |
Email Stephanie Sherron in CO. |
Isn't she one of McKnight's picks? Is she the last one standing? |
Dana Edwards is still there as well, and April Key too. |
What does that have to do with anything? |
DP. It's more difficult to analyze. The PowerBI is difficult to screen scrape or search. You can't download the profile for later reference. If you were serious about providing information to the Public, you would make the information downloadable in tabular format - but that seems to be locked? Typical MCPS Central Office. |
