sperm analysis - how to tell/ask DH?

OP, I can totally relate. My DH hates doctors/needles. He really resisted getting "checked out". I believe he was worried it was his fault. Long story short, he did the first sample at home. Three years later, still no children. We are doing IVF next month. He got over it. I never thought he would ever agree to IUI/IVF, but here he is. Just give him advance notice and allow him to digest it. If my DH came around, anybody's could!

Thanks for the feedback, everyone. I did bring it up, and he wasn't as squeamish as I thought he'd be. I even told him I'd asked on this message board (a) how to ask and (b) how he'd have to do it (his first response - can I give a sample at home?!). This is my first cycle with acupuncture and herbs, a combination that might have worked for me 3 years ago (or it could have been blind luck!). Sometime during this cycle I'll get in touch with my OB to see if they can order the test for him, and if we're not successful this cycle, he'll do it. He wasn't as freaked out about it as I assumed he'd be - and especially after he smelled the foul herbs I have to drink twice a day, he'll be a better sport about doing his part outside the bedroom...! Thanks.
