They're really smart creatures.

Stick to dumbass fish or cows or goats.

An octopus is quite unique. I eat everything, but I can't eat octopus anymore. It'd be like eating a friend. Can't do it. They're really interesting and intelligent.

I was happily eating octopus till I watched the documentary "My octopus friend". I can't eat them anymore.

They’re delicious. In Korea a common way to eat young ones is alive and whole. A quick dip in soy sauce followed by a tad of korean wasabi (that’s when they really start thrashing) and then down in one gulp. So yummy!

My dad raised chickens and referred tk them as the only animal that act no differently with their heads cut off. He has also commented on the ridiculous amount of sh-t, which may have affected his view of them more generally.

Pretty sure they serve it at both Spanish Diner in Betheada and via Sophia in DC.

Minor but important correction here - san nakji, or raw octopus, isn’t alive. The octopus is killed, and then cut into pieces. The pieces move because of reflexes, but they aren’t alive. I just come back from visiting the noriyangjjn fish market in Seoul, where it’s commonly eaten. And by Korean wasabi, I assume you mean gochujang, which is more like Korean harissa, peri peri, or Calabrian chili paste with a long lasting capsaicin heat rather than the quick heat of wasabi.
