They’re delicious.  In Korea a common way to eat young ones is alive and whole.  A quick dip in soy sauce followed by a tad of korean wasabi (that’s when they really start thrashing) and then down in one gulp.  So yummy![/quote]

Minor but important correction here - san nakji, or raw octopus, isn’t alive. The octopus is killed, and then cut into pieces. The pieces move because of reflexes, but they aren’t alive. I just come back from visiting the noriyangjjn fish market in Seoul, where it’s commonly eaten. And by Korean wasabi, I assume you mean gochujang, which is more like Korean harissa, peri peri, or Calabrian chili paste with a long lasting capsaicin heat rather than the quick heat of wasabi.
