Looking back at the data over time is interesting. I remember that as late as March 22 there were people still utterly hysterical about the “end of covid mitigations.” Yet the data clearly show a long flat downward trend since then once we got over the Omicron peak. That’s about when the “urgency of normal” campaign got lambasted by some. Remember?
https://www.medpagetoday.com/special-reports/exclusives/96926 Was thinking about this since Medhi Hassan got canned from MSNBC. I don’t watch him much but he was one of those absolutely in hysterics about covid in 2022. |

Never. But I am getting slightly worried about the uptick in pneumonia in kids.
We are supposed to travel for Christmas and I've already told my kids to get ready to wear masks for the flight. |
From just last week (ONE week) Covid is up 12 and 9 percent in VA and MD, respectively. That's a huge uptick. |
no that’s not “huge” … |
So Christmas is cancelled? |
We're at low historic levels of hospitalizations nationally so percent changes sound more dramatic than they really are. https://covid.cdc.gov/covid-data-tracker/#trends_weeklyhospitaladmissions_select_00 |
And the insanity continues. Upticks! Oh my! Run back to your caves everyone! |
