What is the max number of days you can be absent in MCPS in a row?

I was told that but I never gave a note and they didn't care.

That's because your mileage may vary within MCPS based on how much your admin cares about attendance and chronic absenteeism, and/or based on how active and competent your school's attendance secretary is.
And it really depends what color you are...for equity.

Your obsession is showing again.

Everyone should be concerned about racist policies that treat students differently based on skin color, don't you think?

In the past, there was no real policy. This year we are being told that the 15 day in a row rule will be enforced. I don’t know if it is being enforced because my kid hasn’t missed much school and I don’t know anyone who would know.

Two years ago my child was disenrolled for absenteeism after two weeks - medical related but I did have to reenroll him when he was capable of returning.

The key to the policy is “in a row”. No one cares whether your kid is out 100 days because it’s not in a row - not that they don’t care but just not for attendance and enrollment purposes.

It’s only “in a row.” And you can just reenroll later, though getting the same HS classes isn’t guaranteed.

Same

Really? We were told a parent can excuse 4 days. The fifth day needs a note from a medical provider.

NP. So if I'm pulling my ES kid out for the week before holiday break, I will need a doctor's note?

No because it will be unexcused for a vacation. The doctors note would mean an excused absence for illness. Most teachers let kids make up the work either way but there are no guarantees.
