Travel Anxiety

I haven’t traveled in almost 6 years due to health issues and then the pandemic. I am currently on vacation right now (that I tried to sabotage and cancel the day before I left) and am having so much anxiety about everything. I find it almost impossible to relax.

The anxiety is about everything, $ of everything, eating too much, eating unhealthy, anxiety about my anxiety, anxiety about not feeling relaxed enough. Honestly it feels like I have no idea how to go on a vacation.

Does anyone else experience this?

Sounds like a bigger issue than travel. Get therapist, exercise, start taking magnesium glycinate, see psychiatrist maybe.

My DH has anxiety and we do lots of stuff without him. Next time, let your DH take the kids and you stay home. Trust me. It's not worth it for anyone.

I have terrible plane anxiety. Prior to COVID, I was getting much better, but with two years of not flying, it is back. Most will say just get over it, but there is not an on/off switch for anxiety. I started back with shorter flights and working up to long ones and it is getting better. Maybe you should do the same process.
