Big UTK fan but your comment about all OOS getting into PSU if they can pay is flat out wrong.

PSU is a better school. Esp for business.

UF is far above Tenn and UMD. Not Michigan or UCLA level but definitely a closer tier to UVA than UMD. The second tier is:

Washington, Florida, UT-A, Georgia Tech, Ohio State, Georgia, UNC, W&M (in no particular order)
Next: Tenn, Maryland, UMass, Rutgers, etc.
Next: Delaware, JMU, etc.

UTK is ranked 105 and has a 68% acceptance rate. PSU is ranked 60 with a 55% acceptance.

Is there any ranking that places UTK ahead of PSU?

about half a dozen kids from my kids class of 2022 went to Tennessee. They all love the atmosphere and campus life. They are reasonably well rounded people, but I don’t think any of them were be type that gets accepted to UMD. UMD is a very tough admit from our high school.

Well, there is no way for anyone to make any claim one school is better than another otherwise.

I’ll buy this list - just move Ohio State down a tier and Rutgers up one - Rutgers has branding/image problem but an excellent education

Yeah…for all the shortcomings of USNews it is still the most comprehensive there is.

Anyone on DCUM making any claims is doing so on 1/1000th of the metrics.

UTK is a stronger school than Penn State in literally zero respects.

Prove it.

Lol. You'll never hear from them again. Hard to show proof that's "literally" in one's head.

UTK isn’t ever mentioned in any of these lists…in fact
It’s not even in the conversation.

Let’s not go overboard here.
