I get maybe it’s a little early but so far I’ve heard nobody wish each other a good thanksgiving

I wished 5 people happy Thanksgiving today- some wished me happy Thanksgiving first, and the others returned the greeting.

Anecdotal observation: I had to call 8 somewhat random people today as we have a business deal closing right after thanksgiving and not one said anything about thanksgiving. I felt like this was odd and when I wished them a good thanksgiving they would reply with an “oh yeah. You too”. My DH said he noticed the same thing. Halloween was also quiet and it seemed like nobody cared but I chalked it up to it falling on a weekday.

Must be the people you are with because I have been wishing people a happy Thanksgiving and getting good wishes back!

Op Happy Thanksgiving!!!!

Too early, unless you expect not to see the person again before Wednesday. Like I’m going to work tomorrow but not Wednesday so I will wish my colleagues Happy Thanksgiving tomorrow, not today.

Oh please.

If you want to know what the “War on Christmas” actually looked like, there are 12 days of Christmas. The last day of Christmas is on January 6. So the “War on Christmas” was rabid MAGA hats storming the Capitol, not some atheist, Muslim or Jew that you fear.

Says the poster telling everybody to talk about “holiday stockings.” Who me?

At my kid's medical appointment last Friday morning, people were wishing each other a Happy Thanksgiving, for the team that wasn't going to be on duty this week, I presume.

Maybe current geopolitics are putting a damper on the "Happy". It's hard to be happy when you open your newsfeed in the morning and see entire villages killed or enslaved in Sudan, entrenchment in Ukraine, additional accounts of the horror unleashed in Israel, and footage of the open-air tomb that is now Gaza.

People keeps saying it to me (and have since last week) but I won’t remember to say it until Wednesday. Every time I hear it I’m like, “oh yeah.”

The only time I might think to say it is as I leave work in Wednesday, and Thursday as I walk into the family Thanksgiving. It really wouldn't occur to me to say it at other times.

It’s too early. I’ve only heard it from — and said it to — people I’m not likely to see again between now and Thursday.
For me, Halloween is more of a celebration for kids, so I wouldn’t usually extend Halloween greetings to adults no matter what my mood happened to be. 🦃

I’ve had lots of people wish me HT.

- work at least 4 times
- grocery store
- liquor store

People are saying it. At sports. At clubs. The teachers. The students. Turkey trot was today. Friends are saying it. Sales people. You name it. We are hearing it everywhere early this year.

I don't mean to minimize any of those things, but there is truly awful news all the time. Not sure why it would be different this year versus previous years.

I haven’t been able to get off an email or phone call for the last 4 days without someone wishing me a Happy Thanksgiving.
