| I feel like people are not in the mood for the holidays right now. Anecdotal observation: I had to call 8 somewhat random people today as we have a business deal closing right after thanksgiving and not one said anything about thanksgiving. I felt like this was odd and when I wished them a good thanksgiving they would reply with an “oh yeah. You too”. My DH said he noticed the same thing. Halloween was also quiet and it seemed like nobody cared but I chalked it up to it falling on a weekday. |
| Not everyone celebrates |
| Maybe it’s just you. I got a Happy Tday today and yesterday. Halloween was it’s normal rambunctious day. All around awesome. |
| It’s Monday. For many people, the next two days are business days. That’s like you being all shocked that no one is saying Happy Friday or “have a good weekend” on a Wednesday. |
| What’s wrong with you op? Sensitive much? |
| A few people said it to me today and yesterday too. My dry cleaner is closed for the week. |
I disagree. A lot of people do take off early and the holiday occurs once a year not every week so it’s more special. |
I was out of town for Halloween so can’t speak to that but I got tons of happy Thanksgivings over the weekend. |

I'm a therapist with mostly weekly clients. I mentioned holidays to Thursday/Friday clients a couple weeks ago and last week said "Have a good holiday!" to the people I won't see this week. This week, aka today, I have said "Have a good holiday!" to everyone I've met with, mostly in response to them saying it first.
I would not say it on a Monday to someone I was also seeing Tuesday and Wednesday, though. I agree that it's more of a signing off for the weekend thing. |
Well wait until the day before the holiday to get the reaction you are so desperately seeking. |
| I've been saying it to everyone but I think until it's closer it isn't really tgiving! |
Are you saying you only wish people happy holidays the day before even if you know you’ll not see them the rest of the week? |
| Happy Thanksgiving, ya filthy animal |
| I think holidays have become so politicized that people are afraid to say happy whatever |
That’s cute. Not everyone has that life. |
