Not sure how far you’re willing to drive, but those are the perfect ages for wintertime in Gatlinburg. It’ll be decorated beautifully, you could take them to Dollywood and Anakeesta, and a couple of short hikes in the Smokies. Catch a dinner show one night in Pigeon Forge, stay at a hotel with an indoor pool, or at the Dreammore resort, which your family would love.

Amish country/hershey PA? Philadelphia? Skiing in poconos? What do your kids like to do?

Massanutten won’t have snow over winter break. It won’t be cold enough to even make snow.

Seconding Williamsburg - the Westgate Colonial Williamsburg has a nicely heated outdoor pool
