Last minute winter break trip on a budget with kids?

Ideally something driveable with a pool; we'd be up for anything. Elementary aged kids.

Driveable with an outdoor pool? That’s probably impossible unless you want to drive really far.

For indoors, would water parks work? Or just an indoor hotel pool?

Williamsburg/Busch Gardens. Driveable, and they have special winter break deals on their site with admission to both.

What is your budget?

Try Camelback Resort in PA

Just any indoor pool will do! Budget could be $4K for 5 days or so.

I’d do Pittsburgh and pick a hotel with a pool. There should be plenty to do with museums and stuff plus nice restaurants. Same thought with Philly. Charlotte would work too.

Great Wolf Lodge

4K is plenty for five days. I haven’t been, but maybe Massanutten? I think they have a water park and there are snow activities too. If snow isn’t your thing, Williamsburg would be fun.

Omni Homestead. My kids loved the outdoor pools (heated by hot springs!) in the winter. Indoor pool too!

what are your dates? You could fly to san juan, pr, over xmas for about 250/each on frontier, direct from bwi (dec 19 or 20-25). . Could probably find a hotel or air bnb on your budget.

here's one option

Massanutten

I wouldn't recommend Massanutten. It's great in the summer months when the outdoor area is open, but without that - it is a tiny indoor area. They do have an arcade though.

Whoa. I am so poor.

That’s a reaaallly nice vacation you’re throwing together!

Good on you.

NYC. You can tailor your budget accordingly - it can be done for pretty reasonable price if you don't stay in Manhattan proper.

I was assuming they wanted to ski and board and do winter stuff
