So you can fire a warning shot into the air.

Good lord don’t do that!

It's a shotgun -- it's made for firing into the air.

If you can't hit something in less than 4 shots you have bigger problems. It's home defense, not for war.

+1 Also worth adding that the sound of a shotgun racking is enough for most burglars to know you mean business and move on.

I thought the person saying to fire a warning shot in the air Biden-style was going to be the dumbest dumbass on this thread ….. but then here YOU come along.

OP , don’t listen to either of these two idiots.

And forget the “rock salt” shells. For one thing, they’re commercially nonexistent. For another, you’ll go to jail for shooting someone with them. If you shoot at someone, it better be because you are in immediate fear of your life or another’s life. And you cannot lawfully use deadly force in any situation less than that. Conversely, a nonlethal type of ammunition like rock salt in effect proves you are not in fear of your life because you are intentionally using nonlethal means to deter it.

Go to a local gun shop here in Montgomery county and ask one of the employees to recommend a consultation from a firearms trainer. They will advise you of the laws with regards to self defense and assist you in determining what/if owning a defensive gun is right for you. Because it isn’t for everyone- especially the two morons in this thread who think firing warning shots or the sound of a pump action shotgun being chambered are effective or smart. Those two idiots shouldn’t be allowed to touch a gun.

Good advice but given the sassy start, I’m surprised you didn’t share more about zippy insults the OP can use to insult burglars.

Also, you sound like someone who reads about firearms more than you’ve used them.

Thinking a policy nerd or criminal defense attorney who gets clients back on the streets with predatory technicalities and loopholes.

Good guess?

No lie told.

But dude- have you looked into cans of pinto beans and wasp spray? They are dcum self-defense recommended!

No, Mr President, it’s not made to be fired into the air as a warning shot. And if your stupid senile ass did that in Montgomery County, you’d be sitting in jail.

As is probably the case with most things you attempt, it was a failure.

It’s really sad how much crime has exploded around us. We live in an area that’s actually impacted by all of the council’s far leftist policies, unlike the council members themselves. We are starting to get scared how this might start escalating to home breakins or invasions.

How easy is it to own a shotgun in MoCo for home defense? Does this require as much paper work. I am seriously considering it at this point. Maybe I’ll just own rocksalt shells for now though.

ok, MAGA.

DP. I'm a gun-owning Democrat. There are a lot of us. I was in the military (combat role) so I'm well trained and I know that, when seconds count, the police are minutes away. So they really can't protect you. Progressives are happy to sacrifice their safety and security so they can show everyone what good people they are. I'd rather be able to protect myself and my family.

Sorry that you're so frightened. Do you by any chance suffer from PTSD?

No. I'm just not progressive. Progressives live in the land of make believe where no one needs to protect themselves. I'm a realist.

DP

It’s beyond gross that you insinuate that someone far more courageous than any male you will ever have in your life is “frightened”. The PP you ridicule and millions like him wore the uniform of our country because your own father, brothers, husband, and sons are themselves cowards.

You really are a disgusting creature.

Thank you. That's very nice of you to say. But to be fair, it wasn't courage that guided me. It was being broke and needing money for college. I did learn how to kill a person 6 different ways which is TOTALLY helpful in the outside world. Not. Kids, if you join the military, DO NOT go infantry. Sign up for an MOS where you'll learn a skill that is needed outside the military.

Horrible typos on my part. Let's try that again.
