Just don't do Giant, they are worse than CVS.

I gave up on CVS years ago. The world’s worst.

But it is very concerning that patients would lack access to their prescriptions for so long (effectively 5 days! They might have the meds ready Mo night - but they keep pushing out the time of day when a pickup is ready, so unless one wants to call repeatedly, it's better to go the next day). How is it possible they consider Friday part of the weekend, and not a business day? I also think pharmacies should receive medication deliveries on Sat/Sun - so all of this is incomprehensible to me.

Why can’t you transfer? Is it a controlled substance? Call around to pharmacies until you find it then ask your Dr to call it in there.

CVS is great for us, but we’re not in the DC area. I have a kid with a medical condition and lots of monthly meds so I know the pharmacists and technicians. They’re great about helping us. Walgreens around us are a $hitshow.

It's disheartening to see CVS blamed for the delays in receiving your medications. It's crucial to understand that when medications are back-ordered, CVS is often left with no choice but to continually contact the supplier for updates. In such situations, there's very little more CVS can do. So, is it fair to attribute this issue to CVS?

Additionally, regarding the staffing challenges you mentioned, it's crucial to consider the significant impact of the pandemic on workforce availability. Many pharmacy technicians work long hours, often between 40 to 50 hours a week, to ensure you receive your medications as promptly as possible. This dedication is something worth acknowledging.

If your medications are frequently on backorder, consider contacting the supplier directly to arrange for your order and pay a lot of money. Relying solely on CVS and holding them responsible for these delays may be unfair, especially since they continuously communicate with suppliers to resolve such issues.

Same thing happened to me!

They said the order didn’t arrive and I should call a 1-800 number. They first suggested I should call the manufacturer but they did not have that number. I left without the medicine and with a printout with the number to call.

So, I go home and then get a text that the medicine is ready.

The medicine was there when I was there! But they said it was late, and they had not received it.

WTH?!

And their drive through is usually closed. I go there mainly for the drive through because it’s great to have when you are too sick to stand in line.

Anonymous wrote:Another one to pile on about how horrible CVS is. Last week they sent me two messages "RX ready, come get it." then "RX ready, are you coming to get it today?" I went that day and it wasn't ready. It was on hold because my insurance wanted to fill a 90 day supply. Fine, but why send me messages it's ready? They were rude and uncooperative and had no sympathy that this is a waste of time for people.

I hate them. I had the same issue and the pharmacist was so rude. I’m switching.

I plan to go tomorrow to pick up and hope the meds are really there.

After seeing someone else received a text saying their meds were there when they were not, I no longer know what to expect.

I've had issues at different pharmacies. None of them is perfect.

With the independent pharmacy I had to give them a few days notice for refills because they didn't keep my drugs in stock. Although the service was more personalized, they were closed on Sundays and if I had a problem while traveling, they were not part of a chain.

CVS service depends from store to store. The pharmacy staff at the one I go to has been pretty stable.

Mail order delivery isn't perfect.

Other places, I've struck staff having a bad day.

CVS is the worst. They understaff and they make mistakes. No thanks.

+1

Harris Teeter too.

Until recently, I had positive experiences with Harris Teeter. They seem to have changed their phone system so it's impossible to bypass the automatic system and get a live person on the phone. On top of that, there have been problems with the app/website too. My prescription keeps showing that "in progress" status, then the pickup date keeps getting pushed back, and finally, the refill request disappears altogether, and I need to start all over again. Has anyone else had this happen?

At least you got some sort of notice instead of being told its ready go there and nothing and no explanation.

I switched to a new pharmacy because of this problem. I was worried the problem might be with the medication supplier and follow me to a new pharmacy but it didn’t. No problems getting the medication on time at the new place.

I usually had to give one independent pharmacy a bit of notice to get my medication ordered in. I don't leave it to the last moment.

One time we were in vacation in Texas and needed an antibiotic for my kid and we're going from pharmacy to pharmacy to find it. The different pharmacists were phoning each other to locate it. This was at least 15 years ago.
