Veterans day is not exactly a secret. It is well known.


It's not well known everywhere. There are areas where very few people go into the military, so very few people known anyone in it, and thus are not paying attention to holidays that have antyhing to do with it.


Maybe, but those areas are not the DC area where we have a ton of active and retired veterans, up to and including very high ranking stature


Sure, maybe…but those people aren’t calling around trying to find which restaurants they can get a discount at

I have worked in restaurants for 25 years and never heard of such thing. This must be American restaurants with American customers somewhere in the middle of America.

+1 the current commander of whatever branch is likely not, but it seems right up my almost 80 y/o active combat Vietnam veteran father’s alley when he pauses watching NCIS reruns.

Actually anyone with a business can tell you that people ask about military discounts all year round which is fine, they’re allowed, but a restaurant employee could easily be forgiven for missing the Veterans Day connection.

The younger generation is not as connected to military as the older generation.
