I wouldn’t consider $15 worth the time to figure this out, so I would do nothing.
If the person realizes their error they can take it up with Zelle. |
I was under the impression that a person sending you a Zelle payment will not[i] have your banking information. |
This is completely false. The whole point of Zelle (and other payment apps) is to be able to send money to someone without that information. All they need is your phone number. |
People on DCUM love making statements about things they know nothing about. |
You only need their name, email address or cell. Easy to make a mistake |
Not true at all. My SIL sent me money through Zelle using my email or phone as the reference. I've never once given her my account or routing numbers. |
Nope, just a phone number. No bank acct info needed. |
| They just need a name and phone number or email , that’s it. |
That's not how Zelle works. All you need is their phone number. Once you enter that, Zelle will populate the person's name and say something like "Is this the correct contact" and you have to select yes. Then you enter the amount and before you hit send, it even gives you a warning box to make sure the information is correct because reversing/recovering funds is nearly impossible. My landlord only accepts Zelle for rent. So annoying. |
