| I will get crucified, but I have used Simply Potatoes (you can buy at Giant), and reheated with dollops of creme fraiche, butter and roasted garlic stirred in, and everyone raves. |
+1. And you know what, OP? I make great mashed potatoes and I like making mashed potatoes, but you do what you need and want to do to be comfortable and confident on Thanksgiving. Bob Evans is great. |

Making them the DAY BEFORE, using this recipe, will change your life:

| Costco -- real potatoes, cream, butter, etc. They are perfection. |
| OreIda frozen are not bad. And save you a ton of time! |
Cream cheese? |
Yes! I’m not the poster you’re quoting, and I’ve never made the Pioneer Woman mashed potatoes, because before anyone had ever heard of the Pioneer Woman, my mom was making mashed potatoes with cream cheese. You should also use it in the potato filling for twice-baked/stuffed potatoes! |
| Target brand is a hit with my kids |
Yes, cream cheese. No one believes these were made the day before. They are perfect. I think the cream cheese helps with the creaminess and richness factors on the second day. Don’t knock it until you’ve tried it. |
| Wawa. We get family size mashed potatoes and mac & cheese for Thanksgiving. Family favorites. |
| Trader Joe’s. |
Who actually says "farm fresh cream"? |
This looks too rich. So much butter and half and half, plus a whole block of cream cheese? |
| Impossible to screw up OP. It’s just boiled potatoes, butter, milk, salt, and pepper. Hand mash, either a lot or a little and leave it chunky. You can’t mess it up |
That is not true. If you don't drain the potatoes enough or add liquid before mashing in the butter, you'll get glue. |
