That was what I was wondering too.

We moved to a very rural area in western MA. We basically live in the woods. I would love to live in a lively little neighborhood and hand out candy!

Yes - it is good. Only losers don't want to see babies and their parents.

It is if you don’t have a stick up your butt.

Babies are in costumes are great, at least they won’t take the whole toy wagon of chocolate & candies (2 bags from Costco) we leave at porch all at once.

When my kid was less than a year, we had him in costume with us giving out candy. We walked over to two neighbor we knew well just for fun.

Last year I took the costumed baby around to visit with a few close neighbors I'm friends with, but didn't take candy. One neighbor insisted on giving me a goody bag, so when I got home, just dumped that into our candy bowl to give away.

Going to houses of people I didn't know would have felt very weird.

Why are you leaving a toy wagon of candy on your porch?

It's not weird, certainly isn't cheap.

Please bring out your cute little baby

I would promenade with baby through the neighborhood but probably not actually knock on any doors.

We and some neighbors had to take our kids out for tot but didn’t want to disappointing the kids came tot. We learned just to leave little bit candy out while we were away.

Do it! I think it’s exactly what the holidays are about, participating in the fun and sharing your joy.

If you are given candy, just take it. the older people will think the baby is going to eat it. They don’t remember the rules

I didn't call it ToTing, but I visited a few neighbors and showed off the baby in their costume. And yes got a couple pieces of candy out of it. Kids are 17 now, neighbors still talk to me so I guess it wasn't too weird.

THIS. I would be delighted to see a cute baby in a costume at my house! I’ll give anyone candy who shows up. Haha. I literally don’t understand why anyone wouldn’t.

I have mixed feelings. We all know that candy is for you and not your baby so it’s kind of weird. At the same time if you came to my house, I would give you candy, and then give my husband a knowing look as soon as we would close the door.
