The political establishment is lining up behind Alsobrooks, but Trone has all the money. Both are politically moderate Democrats.

I personally think Maryland could do better. I’m not far left by any means, but since national politics has been driven so far to the right, I’d rather see blue states like Maryland counterbalance that with someone more left-leaning. I wish Raskin would run.

I’m leaning towards Angela admittedly for identity politics reasons. When all other things are equal (in this case, equally mid) I’ll vote for the women of color.

This all being said, what are the chances for the R candidates? The only one I know is Robin Ficker. He never ceases to entertain, I look forward to his presidential campaign kickoff in 2028. But what about the serious Republican candidates? Since Larry Hogan isn’t running, does anyone other than a clone named Harry Logan have a chance? Could Rs peel off enough young Black men to flip Maryland?

What does this even mean? You're like a caricature of the extreme left with this.

It means that if both candidates are equally good or bad, then I’ll resort to identity politics if there are no other distinguishing factors.

I guess if that’s the case and we are voting based on identity I should be voting for Trone. Thanks for the tip.

She's not progressive. She's a normal liberal. No clue what her views are on Jewish people though. She's definitely not DSA supporting Hamas. That's for sure.

They have had two white men as senators for the past 6 years.

That’s right. And it’s not going to happen again.

If you think national politics “have bee driven so far to the right”, then you are definitely far left. Far, farrrrrrrrrrrrrrr left. That’s why it seems like they’re to the right. Because you’re practically hanging off the left side of the curve by the fingernails of your right hand.

Dems control the WH and executive branch (not too mention most career Fed and SES types also being Dems) and the Senate, and stand poised to retake the House next year when Biden or some other Dem will almost certainly be (re)elected.

Does that sound like a country that “has been driven far to the right”?

These talking points were ill thought out when AB sent them out in August

I’m kind of all-in on the destruction at this point. I tried to fight it, but kept getting called a racist. Ok. Y’all win. Let’s burn this b*TVU all the way down. Now I’m voting for whoever is the most progressive. Because this how we can destroy the country and that’s what I want now.

I like what I've seen of Alsbobrooks. She seems like a rational, balanced moderate liberal.

This country has been driven far to the right since Reagan. There’s barely anything left from FDR’s New Deal or LBJ’s Great Society. Even Nixon was better on economic policy that today’s Democrats.
Bootstraps Ideology and “Screw the Poor” dominates both parties in US politics. Most other civilized, Western liberal democracies have some form of a national healthcare system. I don’t care about pronouns and drag queens and wokeism, I just care about people’s economic well-being and taking serious action on climate change.

Why do you assume that all women of color are progressive. Alsobrooks is definitely not progressive. She's a regular boring Dem.

Alsborooks is a boring democrat. Trone is running for fun. He spent $14m each time to win his seat.
