Changes grooming with age?

I never know what do with these comments that don’t sound insulting but we have enough shame and insecurity as is. (And I’m a 50 year old woman who has daughters). Let me gently suggest that hair is just one of the differences between a prepubescent girl and a middle aged woman.

Does it work? I’ve seen ads for some and have been intrigued. I always have a problem getting the, like, very upper thighs/groin area perfectly smooth when I’m shaving. Usually not a big deal but always annoying during pool season.

Not me. It’s even thicker now. I get Brazilians. 50s

The hair on my head is full and thick too- so at least there’s that.

Full bush. Trim the bikini lines in the Summer

I took it all off once and regretted the choice because of the significant discomfort I experienced as it was growing back in. I use a beard trimmer now to keep it short. Avoids the cost and pain of taking it all off, avoids the discomfort of the hair growing back in. But it’s still very neatly groomed, which is my preference. I’ll never be a ungroomed bush person.

I took it all off once because a friend said it would "drive him wild" and he didn't like it at all, so I never did it again. Just keep the sides shaved...I'm part Italian so there you go.

OP here. Thanks for all the replies! Didn’t expect that.

I guess my thing was if something happened or “light bulb” moment where you ladies made a change.

I can’t pinpoint why at 41 I’m pondering going from bald to a triangle (or whatever). Maybe I’m tired of the waxing trips or shaving as a constant.

Well at 41 if you plan to try to let it grow back you better start now because as you get older, it thins out anyhow. Why not give it a try though. Keep it trimmed as it's growing in.

I’m 45. I’ve always kept it trim but not all gone. But now I’m wondering if I should have it all lasered off. I’m more worried about getting grey down there, not sure if I can handle that! So I think I’d rather be bare.

Does it really go all grey eventually? Why don’t our female relatives tell us about these things…

58F here - mine is not grey, not even one strand. My head however is a different story. I get a root touch up every 4 weeks out of desperation. In my case the curtains do not match the carpet

I’m 40. I’ve always done the same thing - trim the front and wax the bikini line. Not a fan of the bald look (and DH doesn’t care either way). I have sensitive skin and can’t deal with the itch/regrowth of shaving anywhere in that area.

This reminds me of a story I read about Kate Winslet. She had nude scenes in a film set in the 1950s and had to wear a pubic wig because her natural hair wouldn’t grow back after years of waxing.

I’m wild and free except in summer when I do just enough to not threaten my child’s social opportunities.

Hahah! Please come sit by me at the pool - I’ll be the one in a sensible swimsuit with a skirt.
