Thoughts on this House in Potomac?

Anonymous
Iron Gate is one of the Best Blocks in Potomac. Very close in inwalk my dog in that block a lot as live around the corner. Lots of Embassy sized homes on block.

Some are dated. Some are not DCUM style but that block is breathtaking and so close to village and DC that size house and two acre zoning on that block

If you or your spouse need to work, you can’t afford it financially or emotionally. Houses like this become the third person in the marriage. Or at least like another child that needs tons of care and feeding. Ive been there and the house may not “hold” you like they should and can be lonely.

It doesn’t remind me of Greenwich at all.

me neither and I grew up in Greenwich. This is solidly an ugly Potomac house.

Two years without a single price reduction.... I guess the owner doesn't care that much about selling.

Oh come on. Not that poster, but it's a horrible house. That foyer? Come on.

Decent layout and I like the outside of it. But if I had the money to buy that place, I'd want to do do some very extensive renovations -- which means you can't just move in. And I wouldn't want to bother with all of that if there were more move-in ready options.

I do like the outside and the pool though.

Agree that the foyer is pretty awful.

OP what do you think of all the comments? We’re you thinking of buying it? Don’t let the commenters get you down as if DC is so posh and old money, and everyone else is nouveau. Would love to hear you weigh in now.

Continued… so what if it’s new money! You’ve got plenty so go for it- you earned it.

The bathroom shower reminds me of something you would use in a stable to wash your horse.
