Thoughts on this House in Potomac?

Been on the market forever! I think it looks nice, reminds me of the houses in Greenwich, CT.

Tacky. There's not one room I like.

I like the pool, the weight room, and a few of the common areas. The kitchen is so unfortunate. They didn’t have the height to install that heavy ceiling trim, the ceiling should have been twice the height to get that kind of look to work.

It needs a full time maintenance team.

Plenty of room for live-in help.

Cold abd outdated. I had a friend who lived off iron gate in the 90s. I was so impressed driving to her house, in awe really. Now I just see that these are big tacky boxes.

It doesn’t remind me of Greenwich at all.

Yeah, more like the Real Housewives of New Jersey.

better than expected based on the comments. it doesn't feel too big and has a lot of cozy rooms. yes, it's a dated style but I would take it over sterile white everything any day of the week.

The house isn't bad, definitely a certain demographic would be interested in this house if it were price closer to $4M, not $6.3M. Also it doesn't look like 17K SF to me, interesting. Maybe it's the the laid out.

If you can afford it, you can probably afford some remodeling. Its beautiful and has some stunning features (that foyer!) but also some 80-90’s show off vibe. More importantly, think hard if you want this kind of size. We lived in an 8k sq home and I believe it diluted the family closeness and interactions. Also a lot of shouting to be heard. ‘Where are you?’ When we moved to a 2k we were never happier. Got a dozen kids and the in-laws? Extra 2mil for renovations? A good decorator has a 100k per room minimum. And you will definitely need one. Can pay a salary for a full time maintenance and gardener person and full time housekeeper? Security when you are on vacation? And unless you’re very wealthy and this is no matter, is this how you want to spend your money? Your time? It’s a full time job managing all of this and maybe that’s fun. Would you get more joy from less house, better location or view.

There just are not too many people who want that much house anymore. Massive custom homes need a particular buyer, so it isn't surprising this one is sitting.

Kind of surprised there is nothing basketball-related in the house. Owner was Michael Jordan's manager and minority owner of an NBA team.
