A store with unique and fun things and clothes for my grandkids. Bonus if they do adorable wrapping.

Tea shop! Not the fancy high tea places, just a simple one like they have in England.

Cat cafe that serves bubble tea, bagels, and Mexican snacks (corn in a cup, fruit cups, mangonadas, etc.). The cats would be adoptable from a rescue.

Pajama shop

I like what I call “witch stores.” Metaphysical bookstores. Preferably with lots of rocks/crystals, and many varieties of incense.

A record store that has a dj and drinks inspired by songs. I like a good lively Jammy Type of store.

Now I think it would be a farm stand, heavy on the flowers.

Yes! When I was younger it was the store that had markers and pens (you bought them by the single), suncatchers, pretty paper, stuffed animals, rainbow stickers, and on and on.

I have two fantasy stores - one that exists in near perfection in real life that I dream of recreating here - the other is one I feel is my unique idea that I’m less excited about persuing. First is a home goods/plants/decor shop set up in a gorgeous garden like setting with an always changing look of charming, unique decor with on site gathering spots with fires burning, cozy seats, etc. On-site coffee & restaurant. This place exists and I go to on my way to visit relatives 5-6 times a year. It seems to be very successful as parking lot always full, you need reservations for restaurant and I see people post about visiting the store on Instagram m, etc. That’s my dream off-ramp from my now too stressful job!!

The shop I wanted to open that I’d love to shop at is all about cleaning the house - with classes that you can take or send your housekeepers too. I’m a stupidly messy person fascinated by those who can seemingly effortlessly keep their homes beautifully clean, smelling wonderful with everything well cared for. This shop couldn’t compete with big box stores on price but it would have curated the best furniture polish, towels, laundry soaps, etc. The classes would be like tutorials on decluttering, how to care for wood floors, laundry - YES I know totally lame but my fantasy of a clean house!!

What is the name of the store that exists? I travel constantly for work so I could potentially look for it on a future trip. Thanks!

Yes, I want the name of that store too. It sounds amazing!

I love any shop that carries home decor, especially dishes, candles and other knick knacks for the home. I also love clothing boutiques that are well-curated. I feel like I can't find any stores like this in the DC area.

Wow! I’d love to go to both of those. Can you please tell us the name and location of the one that actually exists. If you ever find a representative of the other, please post about it, too. I’ve got a feeling you and I aren’t the only ones on DCUM that would benefit from some professional help.

My favorite store ever is a bookstore that specializes in rare and out-of-print books. They will let you sit in a chair and read for hours. It's a real treasure!

Costume and party prop rentals. I know a place like this and it's fascinating to wander through.
