I'm thinking they don't check your card much anymore

So heartbreaking to hear his dad's emotional words.i just don't understand how any bus driver wouldn't remember this young man. He would stand out as a passenger, I'm sure. I pray he's found very soon.

I can’t begin to imagine how worried his family is. He could be anywhere and is probably frightened. He’s a vulnerable individual so I can’t fathom why the police aren’t prioritizing the search. I hope he will be found safe.

This is very heartbreaking. I hope he's found safe.

It shouldn’t be difficult to at least tell where he got off, and once that’s determined they can hopefully leverage other cameras in that area. Police need to get on asking for this. Hoping he is found and safely reunited with his family soon.

Can you elaborate? This is in the article, Wikipedia, it’s the term my cousin uses for her child. The national Down syndrome society hasn’t changed its name etc. (of course without the s many people add).

The father was interviewed this morning and said that metro will only release to the police and that the MoCo police haven't requested it

Oh well it makes sense that they only release to police, but seems odd the police have not requested it.

Is the issue that it's Down Syndrome (no S) not Downs?

And even so, it’s just not offensive.

It’s like being offended if someone says “Sally has cancer.” Or “Grandma has Alzheimer’s.”

Just facts.

Are volunteers going to businesses passing out fliers and asking for tape? Many people don’t pay attention to the news.

I thought it was a troll, not a serious request.

Yes, probably a troll. I'm an editor and the preferred term is "person with Down syndrome." Since language is constantly evolving, it's good to check on current usage of certain terms, but in this case the PP was wrong or trolling us.

The woman who was just reunited with her elderly dog (stolen at gun point) is trying to transfer the media attention to this case.

Good for her and I hope it helps.
