I am new to DC. What do these types of drills mean to those that have been here for many years? Some sort of terrorist threat specific to the DC area? Or just general military prep for overall increased US threats?

I've seen the staging in West Alexandria. Even NOVACC police have staging areas. It looks like police are waiting for something to happen. It would be nice if our government would let us know what's going on.

You should assume there are credible threats to the entire USA all day everyday. From American terrorists who shoot children in schools to others.

The govt periodically says “threats have been made to mosques and synagogues” with zero other info. How is that helpful? If you are aware of other “credible threats” the US govt has announced with actual detail, please share
