I only get takeout fast food like chipotle or cava, etc. I like to dine in because the food tastes better when it is cooked fresh. I don’t like that food sits in a box and continues to cook. Then I have to warm it up again when I get home. It just doesn’t taste as good.
Dining out is good because they cook with lots of oil and salt. It’s not really that healthy but taste good once in a while. If you enjoy it, go for it! |

Sandwiches. I love it when someone else makes me sandwiches. They put in all the ingredients I would never bother putting together just for a sandwich I make myself.
That said, it's always picked up. Delivery feels so lazy and is so expensive. |
Why do we need regulations for this? |
I love a good takeaway |
regulations for food vendors? health & safety. |
(to clarify, “better regulations” likely means “fewer regulations” here). |
I kind of agree. When I was younger I was less picky, but now I want my food hot and fresh. Now that almost every place uses delivery services, the quality has gone way down since the individual delivery person has no real reason to care. |
This food is terrible, though. I don’t go to these restaurants, why would I order takeout from them? |
Cava is great. |
If you think Cava is great, you don’t know great food. |
You don't understand food. |
If you think fast casual food is terrible, then you should never order takeout. Problem solved. |
|
I don’t do takeout, but consider my buying habits of already cleaned and diced vegetables, onions, salad, etc. at Trader Joe’s not substantially more financially savvy/morally upright. |
I do this with less guilt because it is in place of takeout. |
|
I also feel like the food is often gross by the time you get it and I am too frustrated with the inefficiency and cost of delivery to do that. I am frankly shocked how many young people use DoorDash, Uber eats, etc., given how expensive it is.
My favorite take outs are pizza, the burritos from Fish Taco, or salads from chopt or sweet green. Those all seem to travel pretty well. Or sushi. |
