I LOVE TAKEOUT. I am a busy person and DO TAKEOUT

Is it a crime?

I love takeout too. Yesterday on the way home I picked up two fancy salads - one for yesterday, one for today. When I order chinese or dim sum I order like 3 or 4 orders and eat them over a few days. Cuts down on delivery costs a bit plus sometimes there are "buy $50 worth, get 10% off" deals.

It’s getting much easier to find healthy takeout and delivery options

I rarely do it but have no problem when others do, except one family I know who does takeout or delivery almost every single day and then complain that they don't have enough money for the rent. It's a huge waste of money but if you can afford it go for it.

I have no sentimental attachment to cooking and cleaning pans afterwards, but takeout food is so bad for you though! So greasy and salty to make up for crap ingredients! You really can’t eat it regularly and not feel like crap/gain a lot of weight. I wish we had healthier takeout options.

I wish we had better regulations to support small business people doing homey takeout like Indian tiffins. Healthy and cheap(er).

You are insecure about loving takeout.

Me too, OP. I'm a single-person household and I find I'm more likely to eat multiple food groups if I get takeout than if I cook for myself. Plus there are so many great options around here, YUM!

I also love takeout but it's so expensive and I can't justify it all the time. We do takeout once a week and it feels indulgent. We always go pick up, though -- delivery is highway robbery and IMO not worth it. We live in a neighborhood where most places that we do takeout from are a 10 minute walk, plus even the stuff further away is only like a 10 minute drive. We have kids so honestly DH and I fight over who gets to go pickup the food -- that person gets to be by themselves for 30 minutes, lucky dog.

Hate takeout. Everything ends up jumbled together, hot stuff is barely warm. Yuck.

Let me add: I LOVE paying $18 for takeout tacos and another $19 in FEES.

MY GOD HOW I LOVE PAYING SERVICE FEES AND RESTAURANT FEES AND DELIVERY FEES AND ALL THE FEEEEES. .

also OP, please remember to blame "boomers" because you can't afford to purchase property in DC. "boomers" is everyone between the ages of 35 and 80

I also love takeout! But I can’t afford it very often. The couple times a year I get pizza or Thai from a restaurant are such a treat though! More power to you for enjoying what you can afford, OP!

You shouldn't ever get takeout from a "sit-down" restaurant. You should always go for a Cava, Mod, Panera, Firehouse, etc, etc.

Haha. Reminds me of when I was in medical school and being sent out of the hospital on the food run for 30 min felt like hitting the jackpot.
