Could they all fit in one plane?

Well put.

Reagan, Bush I and Bush II were always criticized for their "vacations". I thought it was ridiculous then and I think it ridiculous now. But the fact is that there is a double standard on this as so many issues. Those pointing out the dog issue are merely holding Obama to the standard that the Left created for some of his predicessors:
"Mr. President, how can you X when so many Americans are Y (ing)?"

X=Golf Y=Die
X=Fish Y=Hungry
X=Sleep Y=Out of Work

I'm sure he works hard. I'm sure he needs to recharge his battery. Too bad, his comrads couldn't give his predicessors the same slack.

Mmmm, death, hunger and unemployment are weightier subjects than how many planes they used to get away for the weekend.

As for the vacation record, George W. Bush spent 69 days at his ranch during the first year, (and another 78 days at the Camp David retreat, but those are usually not counted because they are weekends). In contrast, Jimmy Carter took 19 vacation days in Georgia, Obama 23, Reagan 45, GHWB 40, and Clinton 21.

So in the end George W Bush deserved criticism because he took so much damn vacation in his first year, even for a Republican. The worst that can be said is that he took slightly more than Carter and Clinton.

That should read "The worst that can be said of Obama"

Your missed the point. Here's an example:

"President Obama, how can you spend so much time on the golf course when so many Americans are
Y= Out of Work
Y=Dying in Afghanistan and Iraq
Y=Suffering in the Gulf (7 rounds since the spill at last count)"

He has logged about 40 rounds of golf since his election at about 4-5 hours per round. That's about 180 hours or 4.5 working weeks. That's just golf. I guess he's "working" on his golf game not his Gulf game.

As for vacation days, I gather those are self reported. Just because a president isn't in Washington, doesn't mean he's not working. Maybe Bush was more efficient than Clinton. Maybe he was more honest. By all reports, he knew what a watch was and what it was for. Clinton was notoriously tardy, BSed ad nauseum, had significant recreational activity with the WH talent and couldn't keep an honest score card. Carter would have been better off taking more vacations and so would the country. Don't forget he spent some of his working day reviewing the WH tennis court schedule and God knows what other minutiae. The Gipper probably reported a lot of days just to piss the Left off.

Don't complain about petty BS in others when you retail in it.

Vacation days are actually tracked by a presidential historian. And yes, all presidents do work during vacations. But really, Bush was at his ranch for almost 20% of his first year and at Camp David for another 20%. How can that possibly escape criticism?

Most of Obama's golf games are on weekends, so your work week calculation doesn't make any sense.

This whole "gotcha" school-of-thought is nonsense. The "Obama's predecessors unfairly criticized Republicans for doing it so we will unfairly criticize him for doing it" is just stupid. If it was wrong then, which seems to be the contention, it is wrong now. And I'm not saying this in support of Obama. I'm saying it in support of reason. Right now we have a, "We'll bitch when they do it to us and then when the script is flipped we'll do it to them and claim it's because they did it to us" is just BS. Do what you think is right, regardless of which side of the system is in power. Denounce what you think is wrong regardless of who the target is.

Presidents don't get 'weekends' , they don't get 'nights' - of course they can designate time for rest and recreation, but they are always 'on' in terms of carrying responsibility and any vacation days should be calculated against a 7 day/24 hour cycle.

Says who? You?

Presidents keep certain "office hours" and are entitled to time to themselves and their family, so long as they are available at a moment's notice.

A White House insider I know said that, despite all the vacation, Bush kept very long hours. 7AM to 7PM on average. She knew because whenever he was officially "in office" everyone else had to be there. So her hours increased. Obama works a more traditional 9-5, partly owing to him having a younger family and wanting to be around for them. Ultimately, as long as the President is doing what he needs to do to stay on top of things, I don't know that how he structures his time really matters. It's not like these guys are answering phones and risk missing an important call because they're on the course.

All well and good, but somewhat inoperative in the political arena.

Here's How:
Look you don't like Bush and will find any reason to criticize him. It's petty. If he took no vacation days, I'm guessing you wouldn't label him "the hardest working president ever". Just a wild ass guess on my part. Presidents don't work 9-5 M-F. Read any contemporary history book. I'm sure he got plenty done at CD and Crawford. He did have a lot to deal with in that first year. Oh then there was the planes crashing into buildings thingy. The Left never got over the 2000 election. They poisoned the well of public discourse with their hate for Bush. Obama now gets to stew in it. Maybe he should apologize for his party's past bitterness.

One other thing. Since you kept track of Bush's vacation days, what evidence do you have that it adversely affected his job performance. And here's my response to whatever you have to say. Using Obama stimulus logic: Bush's performance would have been worse had he not taken those days off. Besides, as a Bush hater, you should be happy he took so many days off. Less time for him to do what you don't like.

Happy Golfing Mr. President. Fore!
