You clearly aren’t aware of the level of antisemitism that exists in the US. My partner is Jewish and I have sent two children to Jewish preschools in this area and both had security. One was in DC with high profile diplomats and policymakers who sent their children there and the kids were potential targets. It was completely appropriate for the synagogue to Have security in this case. The other was a smaller synagogue which had police security during the hours the preschool was open and during services. Temple members and school families pay for the security as part of their membership dues or in the form Of an annual security fee, and it’s just part of the operating costs. Synagogues often get threats. They are responding to a real risk that you are clearly ignorant about. |
I'd feel much better about sending my kids to their public schools with armed security given what goes on. I'd pick a preschool like this over another one if I knew they had safety first. |
“Pretentious”? Wow, you’re really not tapped into the reality of being Jewish, are you. |

Driving around my area, I can tell you that right now there is police presence at every Jewish institution. Sadly, it's warranted. |
There are accidents so no no |
There have been armed off duty police at synagogues in moco for a decade + |
I sent my son to a large Jewish preschool here in DC. There were metal detectors and guards we had to pass to get to my son’s classroom. My curriculum synagogue has guards in front, off duty MPD, when we go to Sunday School or services on Friday or Saturday. This is nothing new for most synagogues.
Going to synagogue feels like a political act. I remember feeling some twinges of discomfort when my son was in preschool during the last administration, but it feels different and even more fraught now. |

Your antisemitism is showing, PP. |
Calling others terrorists is racist. Just like not every Israeli likes their prime minister. No wonder |
I'm so glad American jews are more like Jesus, sides with the poor |
A Jewish preschool is usually not a standalone preschool. it's usually part of and/or co-located with a Jewish day school, a synagogue, or a Jewish community center (JCC). It is very common for all three of these types of institutions to have security, to varying degrees. |
