Maybe CVS just cashes daily insurance checks without their premiums going up, no big deal. That's what DCUM claims is the result of theft

Putting children in jail won’t stop them from stealing. They’ll just go right back to stealing when they get released. Their families are hungry and this is the only way they can obtain food. How would you like it if you were 14 years old and had to be the provider for your entire family with just the food you could manage to steal. It’s heartbreaking. Anyone who calls such a child a criminal is beyond evil. Put the blame for this where it squarely belongs - right on Donald Trump’s fat head.

That's a different discussion. With increased theft, they'll take their business elsewhere, lock everything up and make shopping experience complicated. Y'all need over the counter stuff or not? Increased theft, mire security and higher insurance coverage would just raise prices for paid customers.

Instead of giving food stamps which parents use for miscellaneous,directly provide food to the kids.

I do not think she is trolling.

Obviously someone - that is, someone or many people in government - agree with what she is saying, and they passed laws creating the problem NPR and OP now complain about.

How else do you explain the current policies?
