I don't know this Principal BUT they have health concerns, family health concerns, etc, just like the rest of us. They take long term leave just like the rest of us. They are people just like the rest of us. Do YOU get blog-worthy treatment each time you need to go on leave from your job?

People, get it together. Your need to sensationalize is out of control. It gives you something to do, just like rocking in a rocking chair, but it doesn't get you anywhere.

If he was on long term leave before and is on leave again it’s likely he is getting treatment for a medical condition.

OP why did you start this thread? Has he done something in the past that would make you think something nefarious is up with this absence? Would you feel crappy if during his absence he passed due to an ongoing health condition?

What is the PP seeing to say something? Someone is on leave around the same time others are on leave for bad behavior so he should have a post naming him? As another poster said, the need to sensationsonalize is a bit much. Now you are inviting posters to report negative things? Wow, no wonder some of the good ones continue to get out and then you start a post about them too and speculate why and their years of service aren't at 30, etc.

My kid asked if I knew why Principal Garcia hadn't been around lately. I also thought it was odd he just disappeared from the website.

I wanted to know if there was any more information. That's all.

This isn’t the first thread on DCUM asking about a missing administrator, and it won’t be the last.

Most parents of any school would be concerned if a principal just disappeared without the school mentioning anything it.

Making administrators silently go on leave without disclosing the reason is a well known legal tactic that suggests the person that disappeared is involved in a legal dispute.

Admins who go on leave for medical reasons don't have that broadcast, either. But keep hating on MCPS.

They don't have to broadcast the reason for the leave, but there should be communication to families that someone else is the acting principal until x date.
