What is an SOL Advanced Pass rate and what is an advanced diploma? I don’t have K-12 kids yet.

- Is SOL advanced pass rate based on certain score threshold?
- And advanced diploma based on GPA like 3.5 or higher?

Yes.
No, I believe it’s having a certain number of credits and in particular subjects and passing the SOL for the course. I believe most college track kids would be getting an advanced diploma.

Yes re "advanced pass" score on SOLs. "Pass" is a 400 - 499 and "pass advanced" is 500 or higher.

Advanced diploma requires a few more "verified credits" in math and maybe science? A verified credit is a passing score on the SOL. Advanced diploma requires a few more overall credits than a standard diploma (26 v 22). https://www.apsva.us/school-counseling/graduation-requirements/

As a parent who sent kid to TH and reaped the many benefits I am glad we did put a lot of stock into that stuff. HS matters people.

I would argue high school matters more than college; i went to an elite college and it’s assumed you are already a good writer, fast reader and note taker, have excellent study skills, and are capable at math. There was very little instruction in foundational topics, everything was taught at an advanced level from get go.
