There's a dessert place at the new The Square on K St in Farragut. I had the vanilla and hazelnut softserve. Very good. And close (too close?) to work. They also serve fresh churros with chocolate dipping sauce, which I didn't try but will next time.

DQ is ice milk, not ice cream.

Ha! I wanted to post earlier but feared being mocked. But I love cones at McDonald’s.

Dairy godmother in del ray has soft serve custard. That place is GOOD.

I don’t think you can mock any soft serve choices. It’s all some powered junk with a ton of corn syrup and hydrogenated oils. No such thing as high end soft serve.

I don't like custard, and prefer ice milk.

So Dairy Queen and McDonalds for me.

Jimmie Cone is good, but I always get the dairy free option.

Anonymous wrote:The chain Freddie's has really good custard. It's seems the same as soft serve ice cream ... not sure the difference, but it's really good. Different flavors/toppings.

+1, and don't sleep on the fried cheese curds while you're there

But my daughter and I have become recent fans of the Nothing Fancy soft-serve (which is available at Pineapples and Pearls, I think until 3 pm or so). They have a butter-popcorn flavor that sounds gross but is actually pretty heavenly.

I really miss tart frozen yogurt.
