+1 Cherrydale is a fantastic clinic. I've been taking my pets to Dr. Sunny House (yes, that's her name) there for almost 20 years. The clinic isn't cheap, but Sunny has always been very straight with me about what I need to spend money on and what I don't -- she is very cost conscious and has never "sold" me anything we didn't need, and has in fact helped me save money many times. Also, she's a brilliant vet. I trust her 100% and still take my pets to Cherrydale even though I moved away from Arlington ten years ago. |

| Canal Clinic in Potomac. |
| Don’t know where you’re located, but we love Dr. Wehrli at Family Pet Vet in Silver Spring. https://www.familypetvetpractice.com/ |
| I don't think Union Vet Clinic is PE-owned. It's by Union Station. |

+1 I had to take my dog to the emergency vet for surgery. I left with a hefty bill and a recommendation to see a cardiologist. When I took him to our regular vet for follow-up (Dupont) she straight up told me that it was my decision but she did not feel it was necessary and that it would be quite expensive. I appreciated that. |

Ask Facebook, Microsoft, Google, and Apple. All used private equity in the early years for growth and advice. |

We were forced to leave our favorite clinic because they began to add unnecessary procedures plus overpricing. For example, our dog developed a scary-looking condition. We rushed her to the emergency vet clinic. They immediately recognized what was going on (because it's scary looking and people freak) and treated it, no big deal, cost to us was ~$300. A friend's dog got the exact same thing. They rushed their dog to our formerly favorite clinic. That clinic ran multiple tests, kept the dog for observation, did a few procedures, and came to the same diagnosis as our dog had. Their bill? $2,000.
That's crazy and unacceptable. They're making pet ownership unaffordable for people who could really benefit from having a pet. More and more, people are foregoing pet ownership because they can't afford skyrocketing veterinary bills. |

Some vet places are more expensive than others, and people are willing to pay anything for their pet: |

 Second this recommendation |
Can you share which clinic? I want to make sure to avoid this place. |
| Vienna Animal Hospital - we were with them for 14 years until we had to put our girl to sleep this summer. Highly recommend! |

Their service area is quite narrow though. They told me they didn’t come to my part of Silver Spring, but they referred me to Two Sisters Vets, who were amazing. |
