Please recommend your deodorant

I have to switch brands every once in a while. I swear, it's like I build up a tolerance to it after a while. My husband tells me that I smell nice but I know that I don't when my deodorant isn't working! Armpits should not smell like onions!!! I had to use my daughter's deodorant the other day and it sucked! It was Tom's brand and I had to reapply several times throughout the day!

Personally, I like to smell like an Egyptian woman with black hairy underarms and legs who doesn't believe in deodorant or soap.

I don't mind the irreverence, which is fun, but the racism I think is appalling.

Ditto.

Make sure you don't apply it when your skin is damp from the shower. I've read several times that doing so makes antiperspirant and deodorant less effective. Wait until your skin is really dry.

Yeesh. It's hard to drag racism into a thread on deodorant, but this poster managed.

I use Certain Dri for an antiperspirant (applied at night before bed) and unscented Sure in the mornings. Works like a charm for me.

I could never find a roll-on that I could have the patience to wait for until it dried up. I get too uncomfortable with the roll on under my pits!

Try Secret Clinical Strength, it comes in an unscented version. Works great, however, it does stain your clothes.

If you've ever been on an airplane flying out of the Ivory Coast or Istanbul, you'd be dreaming about that Egyptian.

Uh oh, now who's racist?

Back to the original topic. . . . It seems like the problem is this nasty miasma that settles on the body after being outside in the heat and humidity. As a PP said, it does smell like onions. I opened the door to a friend today and wow! I realized what that DCUM poster was talking about. So what do you do about that? One can't apply antiperspirant and deodorant all over the body.

PP, I honestly think there is not much one can do, other than not going outside in the heat and humidity. Antiperspirants should be applied to the underarm area only, where smelly sweat glands are located, so if you don't sweat from your pits, you will definitely smell less.

But in extreme temperatures people tend to sweat all over... My head sweats in the summer and my hairline is always wet which I hate. But can't put deodorant all over my scalp, although I do wish I could.

I wear a 38DD bra and underneath my breasts sweats like crazy... pits aren't too bad. The sweat stinks up my bras which I constantly have to change and wash out everyday. There is even chafing sometimes. Anyone tried putting antiperspirant underneath their breasts the night before? Is it safe? Has it been effective for you?

I use Mitchum - only thing that seems to work for me. The downside is that it's some kind of clear gel stick that sometimes crumbles.
