| I really can't find anything that works. It's horrifying. |
| Have you tried degree? |
| OP here: the traditional deodorants are so smelly, it seems like when I use them the deodorant's smell becomes overpowering. So, for the last couple years, I've alternated between the Thai Crystal spray and Keihl's. They work sometimes, but not always. If I could find an effective drug store deodorant that was truly unscented, that would be great. But usually when they say unscented, they still have a bit of gross perfumy smell. |
| Does anybody have a deodorant that doesn't leave a ton of residue on your clothes? Tom's is OK on that front, but it's not quite working in this heat. |

I have the same problem - huge issue for me in the summer especially.
I tried Dry Idea Clinical recently and it was awful. I'm now using Lady Speed Stick, which seems to work and isn't too heavily scented. You could also try unscented men's deodorants/antiperspirants e.g. Right Guard. There's no reason you need a "women's" product. |
| OP again - Keihl's is nice in that it doesn't leave a residue. But, when it doesn't work, I think my pits smell like cat urine. When it works, it's good. But, seriously, walking around smelling like cat urine isn't the greatest. The crystal rock or spray does not leave a residue. But, doesn't always work, especially in this humidity. |
| I recently switched to Dove Clinical Strength. It's better than most, on most fronts. There's still some residue, but not as bad as solids. It definitely works better on the antiperspirant front. Seems to be about the same as the rest on the deodorant element. I don't know if they make an unscented version, but the one I have is less perfumy than the usual suspects (Secret, Degree, regular Dove). |
| I think what I use is Sure brand, unscented. Doesn't leave much residue at all, really isn't scented. It's not marketed at women's or men's - just comes in a green and blue package. Inexpensive, seems to work well. |

Tip for making your anti-perspirant work better: apply immediately after you're out of the shower.
And everyone is aware of the difference between an anti-perspirant and a deodorant, right? One prevents perspiration, the other just covers the smell. I am not a fan of scented underarm products and haven't used them for years. |
| 13:04 - what brand do you use? |
| You may have hyperhidrosis. I have it and used to use a prescription anti-persperant called Drysol. I stopped using it though because I decided it couldn't be good for you. |
| If I may... This thread is big DISSAPOINTMENT to me... I was really hoping to click on here and read about how horrible uneducated person, OP was for wearing deodorant; that it was unnatural or not earth-freindly and that she should be rubbing some sort of tree bark on pits, which shouldn't be shaved [except unless your husband is a pedophile... sorry, that's for shaving 'down there']... Come on people!!! Where are the DCUM Loons? We know you are out there, waiting to tell us how ignorant we are here in the US and that in 'Europe'... blaa blaa blaa. |
Sorry, failed to identify myself as the PP at 13:03 as well - the user of Sure (thought I'm not actually sure that's the brand...sorry). |

No deodorant for me, thanks. I am single, and need a Man. Unadulterated pit rot is mother nature's mating call. Pheromones, you know. Better than the finest perfume.
Have a nice day.

You too, B.O. Woman. Just don't stand near me on Metro. |
