I bought a joules raincoat that fits this description. Love it. Great for work- not so much for a hike.

PP who suggested Columbia Arcadia II. I bought one for my MIL, she is about size 16-18, I think I got 2X for her. It fits and it does its job.

I recommended the thigh length LLBean with liner – it comes in plus size, but the XL probably fits up to an 18 or so, depending on build.

I have the longer version with the zip out lining and absolutely love it.

I like this! How does the sizing run? I'm short, but athletically built - small waist, bigger in hips. Size 6 for the most part.

I agree with Helly Hansen, but I also got one YEAR ago at Eddie Bauer that would fit the brief. I honestly don’t think it had a brand besides “Gortex”. Mid thigh, brand less, waterproof, breathable (lots of vents) and a generous hood.

OP, if you tend to heat up (as I do) the armpit zip vents are essential. Don't even consider buying a raincoat without them!

Patagonia Torrentshell. This is an amazing rain jacket (I finally splurged, tired of getting wet). On sale now at REI. Rated the highest by NY Times Wirecutter, and I agree with them.

What are some good, long (not hip/butt) rain jackets with the armpit vents?
Anonymous
Not sure if they make trenches with armit vents. But look at this website, if anyone, Scandivanian would have this figured out: https://www.outnorth.com/ilse-jacobsen/women-s-raincoat-218sp

It's not long enough though. OP wants leg coverage. I used to have a jacket like this and it kept my torso and arms dry but in a downpour, my jeans would wind up soaked through.

I have the Joules raincoat linked above and love it. It runs big - I’m typically between a US 14-16 and the UK 18 is large on me. It’s completely waterproof !

I have one from Athleta (a few years ago) that I really like and which meets most of your criteria - I'm not sure what your standards are for "breathable" though.
